George has been invited as a member of the judging panel for the 2008 Middle East Lighting Design Awards (MELDA), Dubai.
The scope of the publication is to look at Dubai’s architecture and urbanism with focus on its evolution (historical, social, cultural, contemporary) in the form of a documentation, presentation and analysis.
George Katodrytis, (Advisory Board member of the International Design Initiative) participated at the International Design Forum 27-29 May 2007, at the Madinat Conference Hall in Dubai.

Self-organization is a dynamic and adaptive process through which systems achieve and maintain survival without external control. The research and design of such morpho-(eco)logical systems engage the examination of physical systems in relation to their capacity to modulate climates, and spatial and programmatic opportunities.
The municipality building proposal is is an urban and public garden.

In Dubai there is little difference between holiday accommodation and housing. Architectural programs are becoming fused and undifferentiated. The morphology of the landscape and seascape is becoming fabricated to the point that it may soon be difficult to differentiate between the natural and the constructed.
